Welcome to the Third Grade Blog!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are getting closer to our Spring Georgia Milestone Assessment Testing Window and are making final preparations. Our Window opens on April 22nd and closes on May 10th. We wanted to make you aware of our testing schedule for 2024 so that you could help prepare your children for their scheduled testing days and give you some more information for this year's testing. Please read the Parent Information Letter - Final Preparations for Testing.

Please note that state law regarding promotion/retention will be implemented in 2024. Students in 3rd, 5th, & 8th grades must demonstrate on-grade level reading ability on the Georgia Milestones. Students in grades 3, 5, or 8 who do not perform on grade level in the area of reading will retest for ELA/Reading on June 6th. No retest will be offered in Math (including the EOC Algebra assessment).
Algebra parents, an Algebra grade-conversion score will not be included in your child’s final Algebra grade. To receive the HS credit for the course, your child must participate in the EOC administration and pass the course with a 70% or higher.
As always, you can assist your child by ensuring that she or he:
gets plenty of rest during the testing weeks,
eats a healthy breakfast,
brings a snack and a bottle of water,
is present and punctual each day of testing (we will begin testing promptly at 8:00 AM at the Upper
Campus and promptly at 8:15 AM at the Lower Campus),
understands that this test is a positive opportunity to demonstrate what she or he knows.
We appreciate your continued interest in the education of your child(ren) and your support of our school. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated and caring school community of parents, teachers, staff, and students!
Sincerely,
Your 3rd Grade Level Team
Lower Campus Lunch Room Visit🍎
We are excited to announce that parents can now sign up to have lunch with their student! Please read the below for details on how to schedule your visit and what you will need to do.
Lunch visitors are required to present their photo IDs at the front desk and be signed in through the Raptor system. If the visitor does not have a photo id they will not be allowed to enter.
Lunch visitors must be at least 18 years of age. Siblings who are not enrolled at ICSAtlanta or are enrolled at ICSAtlanta but have a different lunchtime or campus, are not allowed.
Each student is allowed 2 lunch visitors during their visit (please use only one sign-up slot even if there are 2 visitors for the same student).
Lunch visitors, when not accompanied by the child's parents or legal guardian, must be listed on the child's student account as someone who is authorized to see (pickup) this child. Parents will need to submit an Alternate Transportation Form to the front desk prior to the visitors' arrival.
Students who have lunch visitors are not allowed to "invite a friend" or have other students visit with them during their lunch visit. (This is a safety concern since the other student's parents have not authorized the school to allow this visit.)
Lunch visitors will proceed to the front desk immediately at the conclusion of their designated lunch time. Parents are not allowed to escort their student back to the classroom after lunch. If a visitor is scheduled for more than one lunchtime they will return to the front desk to wait for their next lunchtime.
Parents, the lunch time of the third graders is 10:30 pm. Please make sure to select the correct tab on the top of the page that shows 10:30 to 10:55 pm on the sign-up genius.
Take a look at our new LC Y@G tab. It is your year at a glance describing all events, happenings, and programs at the Lower Campus! 🎉
